This study explores  the effectiveness of implementing the guided reading strategy in relation to the pre-reading activities on primary school students. I selected this topic because I want to investigate how guided reading with pre reading strategies may  influence developing students’ reading skill.

The purpose of the study is to improve primary school readers’ skills and show the degree of effectiveness of the practical strategies that might strengthen the understanding of English within reading text interaction. The study targeted  grade four students in a governmental school in which two classes were selected convenientlay according to the availability of the sample. Data were collected through conducting the interviews, observations and reflective journals.

The findings revealed that integration between guided reading strategies and pre-reading can lead to improve students’ reading skill, especially, reading fluency and pre-understanding of provided reading skills which served in reading comprehension..
