Opening:

PURPOSE:
The teacher works with the whole class and provide background knowledge about the Sun and Moon’s.
In this part of the lesson, students will be engaged through responding to the teacher questions. Also, will explore the different faces of the moon “new moon, crescent, half moon, gibbous, full moon” as they go over the “different faces of the moon” book.
The teacher will convey the context of the lesson by conveying an important “Key Question”. Finally, by the end of this part of the lesson, students will encourage to investigate and record the initial ideas about the different faces of the moon.

PURPOSE:
Students will be divided into three different ability group (high, medium, low). During this part of the lesson, student will hand on and practice more about the different faces of the moon. In the small groups, the teacher will enhance learners thinking through manipulating different materials and reflect on their work.
Activity 1 - Medium group
Students in group 1 will work individually. Students in this center will create a flipbook about the different faces of the moon. In addition, they will use plates paper to form different faces of the moon.
The teacher mentor and provide support for this group.
Students in the group 2 will work individually.
Students will form different faces of the moon through using cookies.
The teacher mentor and provide support for this group.
Activity 3 - High level:
Students in this group will work individually.
The student will complete the sheet by coloring the different faces of the moon.
The teacher mentor and provide support for this group.
Closing: whole class

PURPOSE:
This part of the lesson is prepared to assess child’s understanding. The teacher will assess the whole class through play a game and asking questions. By the end of the lesson students will be able to names each phase of the moon
