The teacher will discusse the five food groups for example, fats,fruits, vegetables, protein and carbohydrate. Then run the rest of the program, allowing time for pupils to discuss the food groups.
Describe here what the teacher will be doing during the practice activities:
The teacher will ask students to play “food on the plate.”
In his activity, the students will choose their food and they have to put it in the right place.
Activity 2
Ask pupils to make their plate.
They have to cut the pictures and past it on the plate.
Closing/ Conclusion: Time: 10m
Consider a review of what the students did during the practice activities and ensure that all students are assessed for learning.
Bring the class back together and share some of their work, recapping the main points. Show them a copy of the Balance of Good Health food plate from Information Page 'Eating for health'.
